It can also be used as it was intended....to measure rings. Place a ring on the stick to find out what size it is.

Each side has two types of markings.

Size markings include:

U.S. sizes 1-15 in 1/4 size increments
Diameter 13-24.2mm
French sizes 1-36
European circumference 41-76

Grooved for working with Rings with Stones

It is Not Recommended to use a hammer on this ring stick, aluminum is not as strong as steel and using a hammer could cause damage to the tool.
